Bhowali

Right on the motorable road to Kathgodam and Almora, its healthy climate made it an ideal location for the opening of the first T.B. Sanatorium in the State. Four kms from Bhowali are the famous Golu Devta Temple and Sainik School in Ghorakhal.

Enjoy nature walks, horse riding, or even rock climbing and rejuvenate yourself. There are wonderful forest walks in this area where a walk to the Dorothy’s Seat picnic spot at Tiffin Top can be a memorable experience. Trekking to Naina Peak is another significant activity to be enjoyed here.

Bhowali is famous for its fruit orchards. You can buy apples, apricots or pears, from the growers directly during the fruit-season (May-Ausgust).

At Ghorakhal, a temple of Golu, the revered god of the Kumaoni people is located at a charming place with alluring views of the valley of Bhimtal.

Bhowali is 11.5 kms. from the Soulitude in the Himalayas and it takes about 22 minutes to reach there.
