We visited Soulitude by the Riverside for one day in Oct ’13, however, we stayed at Soulitude in the Himalayas. Mr Prithvi (Manager at Soulitude in the Himalayas) suggested us to visit the riverside property and to our surprise it turned out to be the most memorable part of the trip. After 20 mins trek on a sunny day, we received a warm welcome from the owner Manish Chandra and Manager Manoj Latpate. Mr Manoj assisted us during our visit to Chanfi starting from accompanying us for lunch to sharing his discovery of “Micro-greens”, helping us in clicking pictures, also sharing “Lemongrass” plant with us from their homegrown nursery, even helping us in climbing the rocks that were present near the Riverside.
One area of improvement that I felt was the “food”; food prepared was very homely and organic, however, they can add few varieties to their food menu such as Mughlai, Chinese and Italian.
For the very first time in my life i got to know about ‘Micro – Greens’ – these are minute plants that grow in 6 days are have taste that is identical to normal vegetables such as raddish, beans, lady finger and what not. They actually grow these micro-greens in their farm organically and these micro-greens can be consumed directly without even cooking and they taste fabulous. We got to know of all these information through Manoj who is about to get his PhD in this subject.
This review will be incomplete without the mention of special gift we received from Manish, Manoj and team. It’s a pair of pebble with our name painted on them. We were really impressed by this gesture of theirs. We also had a long conversation with Manish over a cup of pleasant evening “Lemongrass” tea.
Some special mention about Manish Chandra, the owner of both the venues, – who is really humble and down to earth person. During our conversation with him while sipping some sumptuous lemongrass tea, we got to know that he is the real brother of Mini Mathur and accordingly the real brother in law of Kabir Khan, Director of ‘Ek tha Tiger’; now you might relate why Salman Khan’s name in the movie was ‘Manish Chandra’ apart from Tiger :):):)
A special thanks to Manish and Manoj for such a memorable visit to the Riverside venue.
As I mentioned in my other review as well (for Soulitude in the Himalayas), both their properties are truly worthy of a well deserved excellent rating.
Hats Off guys, we promise that we will be returning to their venue in near future for sure and probably we may fix this location as our favorite holiday location.
Cheers 🙂
Stayed October 2013,travelled as a couple.
